Hard to believe that we are once again close to the end of the year. Quite a year it has been too in our small BWS world. Several of our artists have been successful in having their works exhibited in very prestigious shows locally and even, for one, in the U.S.
Our own shows, both juried and open, were marvellous examples of how diverse and exciting an exhibit our artists are capable of producing, reflecting our mix of recreational and professional artists.
As quoted in our website “Bayview Watercolour Society is much more than just watercolour”. The introduction of a Kids Art Fun Day featured in our open Fall Boynton show brought a whole new dimension to the face of BWS and was enjoyed by many local families.
Recently, we have embraced the world of social networking with the introduction of this new blog, "The Waterfront". I encourage you to become a follower and to pass the word along to your friends in the art world. Added to our established website we are truly on the cutting edge, don’t you think?
April 2012 will see us turn ten!!! I would love to hear some ideas on how we can celebrate this occasion. We have made many happy memories together but the best is yet to come.
It has been with great pleasure that I have, over the past year, officially held the position of President of BWS…….unofficially for a year or two prior. Now I look forward to handing over the reins to a new President of your choice who will bring fresh modern ideas on how to continue and
grow. My husband and I plan to spend even more time travelling, his philosophy is “if we don’t keep going we might seize up” well, something like that. We are a unique group with much to offer and I will continue to enjoy being a very active member.
I would like to take this opportunity to pass on the wishes of your executive to wish you and yours all the best of good wishes for a happy holiday season and a new year that sees some of your dreams come true.
Lizbeth
